St. Louis Mid America Regional Information Systems (MARIS) of St. Louis merged with Southwestern Illinois Regional MLS (SIRMLS) in early 2016.
Here is part of the announcement:
"The merger will increase membership in the combined regional MLS to over 11,000 members, and increase property inventory to nearly 30,000 on-market listings, which will generate additional opportunities for members and their customers and clients. The merger of the two MLS providers will create a market area that mirrors the Greater St. Louis metropolitan statistical area (MSA), a geographical region with a relatively high population density at its core and close economic ties throughout the area. The Greater St. Louis MSA includes St. Louis City plus 16 counties with 8 each in Illinois and Missouri, and the combined statistical area of the MO-IL MSA is the 19th largest in the country.
MidAmerica Regional Information Systems (MARIS) provides the regional multiple listing service for the St. Louis Association, St. Charles Association, and the Jefferson County, Franklin County, East Central, South Central, Pulaski County, Lebanon, and Mineral Area Boards of REALTORS®.
Southwestern Illinois Regional MLS (SIRMLS) provides the regional multiple listing service for the Greater Gateway Association of REALTORS® and the REALTOR® Association of Southwestern Illinois."
